I know lots of people say CAS doesnt matter, but 10 seems unusually high. I have 8, most kits are 9, and yours is 10.

What about getting two of the 8gb kits? (4X4gb) It's extremely unlikely that you will ever need to go beyond 16gb in the machine so why not use all slots.

What case are you using?

Edit: and don't forget you will have to unregister and re-register windows to switch the mobo.

If it's for gaming 16 gb is overkill. Save the money go with 8 gb and try to get ddr3 1600, cas 9, or better if you can.

1.5v for the ram as well, there have been reports of 1.6v memory causing problems with ivy cpu's.

Ah; I do a lot of heavy image work and using other programs so was hoping for the extra RAM, the case is a antec P183.

I take it by unregister and re-register you mean just reformatting it? I'm alright with that.

I guess this would be more suitable?
Corsair Memory Vengeance LP Black 16GB DDR3 1600 MHz CAS 9-9-9-24 - £65.40

Good choice.

Setup looking like a winner!

Just a heads up on that motherboard, the second PCIE only does 2.0 @ 4x

So sli/crossfire would be gimped on it.

Cool thanks! But that's no problem, only ever use 1 card at a time.

Looks great.

Sorry about the vague description. Assuming you built this PC with an OEM version of windows, the windows license is linked to your motherboard. You will need to figure out what steps are needed for Microsoft to deauthorize the link to your old motherboard so you can install the OS with a new motherboard. It is definitely doable, just kind of a headache that may require a new install of windows on your hard drive.
