that also have a PCI Express x16 connection?

I'm getting a new graphics card that's much bigger than my current card. I've measured with ruler and tape measure i reckon it will just fit, but it will pretty close to some capacitors and other things sticking out. So are all motherboards with PCI Express x16 designed so that any graphics card with a PCI Express x16 connection will be able fit.

It would stupid if it ends up not fitting because a capacitor is sticking out 2mm too far. :(

All PCIe x16 slots are backwards and forwards compatible. However some have problems with the Bios and chipsets of the motherboard resulting that they dont detect the gpu.

What is your mobo and what gpu you will be upgrading to?

I upgraded to HD 7850 before getting a new PC a few months later and putting the gfx card in that. (The PC specs in my sig.)
