120hz monitor

Im currently looking to replace my monitor. Its an old (4-5 years) samsung 720p 60hz lcd tv. I've narrowed it down to 2.

Im not buying it for the 3d just the 120hz.

    120hz will offer a good fluid motion for the desktop or gaming. For gaming you need to maintain 120fps(which means you will require SLI) in games otherwise get a 60hz monitor.

    You can always opt for a higher resolution monitor for sharpness and clarity which I think would be a good option.
  2. I know my 560ti wont be able to max out games at 120hz. After i pay off the monitor im ether getting a gtx 680 or just pick up another 560 ti cheap.
  3. The 680 is only worth buying if you compare it to a 670 that is less than 10% cheaper. If you're considering it, the 670 would probably be the better buy later on.
  4. In gaming 120-144Hz is amazing, the problem is spending $500 on a TN Panel lol. Buy the monitor and down the road like you said go for highend card thats out at the time your shopping. You will notice 120hz everywhere not just gaming.
