Connecting to a wifi router on xp pro

Hello,
I am trying to connect an old computer to my wifi router. The old computer is running Windows XP Pro sp2 and has an old wireless card in it. I have tried various methods to connect it to the router but have been unsuccessful. Any help is appreciated.

what type of network card is it?

if it is a B-wireless network card, it will most likely only support a WEP wireless network.
