I5 3750k or i7 3770 (non K) for a New Build

hey guys planning to get either one of the 2 :-

Planning to get this for 3d rendering work, photoshop & bit of gaming. Its hard to find any good reviews or tests of the i5 3750k vs i7 3770 (non K) most of the tests are for the K version.

What do you guys think would be a better deal and be a bit future proof?.

I dont know much about overclocking, might try it a bit : but not at the expense of power consumption (low power consumption is one of my main priorities)


Also, the first comes with a Gigabyte GA-Z77P-D3, there isnt much info online about this (but the only drawback i figured is 1 hdmi port) not sure if thats a problem.

and the second bundle with a MSI Z77-G41 (which i have seen has quite horrible reviews) , should i swap both of them for a Gigabyte GA-Z77P-D3H ?

they both look poor in terms of what it includes. mainly cheapo power supply

and if its a rendering build on a budget, id get a fx 8320 to save money over a i7. i5s are not for work really

But i have to choose between those two. Also the amd build seems to consume more power than the intel builds.

the only difference i see is the cooler master case (they havent mentioned what psu it is tho) maybe its a CM too?

Going to your first question -- I am pretty sure these are un-overclocked results. So I am not sure how the i5k series would look overclocked on this list.

the i5 3570k at stock speed is around 7000 marks. well over double

this compares the 965be to the 3570k at stock speed. keep in mind a 965 be is just a overclocked 945
