Using an AMD/ATI card and NVIDIA card together HELP

I want to use a Radeon HD 4870 512MB GDDR5 as the main graphics card, but I also want to make use of my GeForce GT 520 1GB GDDR3. I know I obviously can't CF or SLI between the two cards, but is there a way I can use both of them together when gaming?

***Is it possible to use the Radeon HD 4870 as the main card, and use the GT 520 as a PhysX card, since it supports PhysX? Would it also be possible to make use of the GT 520's DX11 features, and still be able to use the HD 4870 as my main card? (since the HD 4870 is a DX10.1 card)***

Okay, so it's possible. Now, I know this is a long shot, but will using an NVIDIA card along side an ATI/AMD card improve gaming performance at all?

Depends mostly on which games you play. If they are Physx titles, yes. Otherwise, probably not much difference.
