Okay, So i bought a 7750 1 gb DDR3.

I used a Dvi to vga adapter on the card. I'm noticing every once in awhile very faint horizontal lines and maybe once in awhile the monitor will turn off for 1 sec and turn back on quickly.

Do you think it's the adapter or i dont have a good power supply??

Yeah I know I should have, and yeah the system is alright when the moniter turns back on. Like my browser would freeze randomly then the moniter turns black and then goes back to normal. Very quickly.

Okay I did a gpu stress test, ran max 68 degress cel. Running at 10 FPS ....but no random messups.
Also I redid the connection from the moniter to the GPU and I haven't seen those horizontal lines YET>

One thing to note, I've never seen such issues while gaming..always when im browsing the internet.

I have the following games downloaded on steam/origin..which ones should I play to stress my gpu;
-Just Cause 2
-Borderlands 2
-Borderlands 1
-Battlefield 3
- Garry's Mod
- Counter Strike Source
- Counter Strike Global Offensive

I would send that DDR3 card back for a DDR5 one if possible. Performance increase in games is massive. The DDR5 version plays BF3 on High settings *1440x900* with 40-45 fps on average.

There is no better value budgetVGA than the 7750. (there aren't ANY with such a Power/Performance ratio)

Get a refund, get your money back and buy the DDR5 version elsewhere. It's not your fault they don't have it. You'd be at least 25% further in performance for the same amount of money. Do it dude!

Wish I could but it was a gift. Anyways, I'm starting to see those lines again, I'm assuming it's the DVI-VGA adapter, because I'm not really seeing any problems during gaming.

I'll get a DVI cable then.

But what I realized is that, I want to get a better graphics card slowly.

But of course my PSU won't be able to handle that.

Can I get recommendations on the power supply? I want it to fit in my existing case (a6602f HP case). The dimensions of my current power supply is 5.9 W x 3.4 H x 5.5 D - Inches . Obviously I want a power supply to work with all the parts of I currently have, and I probably want at least 400 W of course, but nothing seriously too expensive and high wattage (Like above 650W+). Just enough of course to handle the 7750 and support my future video card upgrade.

Parts I currently have;

Also I was wondering whether my processer which is Phenon X3 2.2 GHZ 8550 would be able to keep up with the cards? Unfornately my motherboard(nettle3) is AM2+ and according to HP i can support up to Phenom with Quad Core (Agena) technology (AM2+) 9600 (up to 95 watt TDP).

NO matter what I cannot get a new case. Another question is whether I should just get a PSU(because my CPU can handle better cards) or a new PSU and a new motherboard(one that supports AM3+ or an intel processor.)

Thanks for the help in advance.

It is fine for what you are doing. You can run 75% of the total output without any trouble. I would be careful going past 80% though (~345watts) After a CPU and video card, the rest of the components use about 20 watts and almost half of that is usually the hard drive.

Although, your existing PSU should be just fine. I recommend saving the money, unless you want something quieter and more energy efficient.
