Rather confused by my tv. I have a Samsung, and a Dell Inspiron. I keep a cable plugged into the back of the tv - never touch it. Then I carry my laptop over and attach the other end of the cable into it, and voila - it shows up on the TV. I've been doing this with no problem for at least a year. I generally just toggle through using FN-F8 if necessary, and that's all I've ever needed to do. Today I tried to connect it and the TV just goes black. If I unplug the computer it goes back to its normal "searching for signal" message. Plug it back in and it goes black. Tried changing the resolution to no effect. The cable is unchanged and undamaged. Any thoughts ? It's VGA at both ends of the cable. None of the little pins appear to be damaged. ( BTW, I have separate speakers and they are working fine - but audio is not through the tv so I can't get any hints from that.) The resolution has not been changed; it's at 1280x768.
I wasn't sure which category to put this in. (I don't know what a TV tuner card is, but this seemed like a good place to start). Please let me know if I need to move to another forum. REALLY appreciate it. This is the only way I watch TV bcs I don't have satellite or cable, so I'm very bored on top of it all!
