Can one router repeat the other?

I have a Netgear Wpn824v3 and a D-Link DIR-655 .

I want to put the D-link on the mid floor of my house, and the Netgear on the top floor.
The netgear will be plugged into a xbox, providing it with a connection.

Is is it possible to do something like this? How could i set this up?

No. It will create interference problems. If you are looking for a strong signal throughout the house, consider a range extender.
