Graphics card problems, could be related to PSU.

Hi guys. Recently my GPU started to crash whenever I would play a game or use an intensive piece of software like maya. At first, I thought nothing of it, but when it started being a regular occurrence, I started to worry. Now it seems it has gone the extra mile. When I try to boot my machine, the GPU fan goes to 100% and no display appears. The reason I think this could be linked to the PSU is that sometimes the machine refuses to even turn on. About 1/50 times I try turning it on I actually see the post screen and I'm able to use my machine until it next crashes.

However, as we speak I'm using my onboard graphics chip and have had no problems with crashing or boot ups. Could anyone please share their wisdom with me, as I dont want to fork out for a new PSU when that might not even be the problem. I've had this PSU for the good part of a year and a half now, and it's never failed until now. It's a corsair 650w and my GPU is a Nvidia GTX 580.

Thanks guys!
