Welcome to Tom's hardware Forums!

The problem could be with the built-in wireless adapter inside the laptop. Go to Device Manager and check the status of this. Also, make sure that the correct driver is downloaded and installed.

In Device Manager, find the wireless adapter and disable it (not delete). Then restart the computer. Windows will 'find' the wireless device and install the correct driver.

Now look for available networks, and connect using the right password.
