my radeon

i just installed new parts and need to know if something about my video card. I have a radeon 8500 oem and have so far tried two demos, return to castle wolfenstein and ballistic. With castle wolfenstein, my windows cursor would repeatedly flash in the middle of the screen and within 20-30 secs, the screen would go all f*cked up and repeat the same sound over and over again. With balistics, the sweet graphics would load and then when i got to the actual racing, i would be kicked to windows. Now is this just bad luck or is there something wrong with my card. Here are my specs:
athlon 1600+ XP@ 1554mHZ
512 DDR 2100RAM
Epox mobo
Radeon 8500 oem
sound blaster live

i have tried search activision and ati for your problem they both have forums at their site. I would try to post your problem their. I have radeon and had problems with need for speed porsche edition it was a adapter setting they had me change and it works great now.
