Red CPU Power LED?

I just assembled my rig, and put the wires in, and everything is plugged in. So when I turn on my PSU, my motherboard has a large green LED light on it that is staying light, and when i press the power button i hear a click, the fans do a weak, slow rotation, and then a red "LED CPU power" light flashes, and then it goes off. I don't have my GPU in yet, and my monitor isn't hooked up, but none of my case LED lights are coming on either, does anyone know what it may be?

P.S. Nothing has power, I've tried opening one of my optical drives but it isn't working.

Did you plug the cpu in properly? I'm not an expert at this in any way but your motherboard could be bad.

When i plugged the CPU in it is lined up with both of the little pins on the sides, but it was REALLY hard to get the little side pin thing down and under the CPU plate.
