Oversized Display

I'm currently using a SyncMaser 2494HS and running it in it's recommended resolution of 1080p and 60 hz. For some reason, however, the display seems oversized. Before I got this monitor, my friend was using it. He was running it in 1080p without any problems. It also happened to me when I connected my computer to a 42" 1080p screen. For some reason, if I want to see the whole display, I have to use the Nvidia Control Panel to change the resolution to 1842x1040. Please help.

If it helps, my GPU is a Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti, and it has a Micro-HDMI plug instead of the usual HDMI plug.

Goto to NVIDIA control panel and switch off whatever is related to overscan or underscan.
