Any thoughts on this budget gaming build? (from Newegg) ~$650

System use: gaming, recording games, editing fraps videos

Do I need an OS: Yes.

Preferred website for parts: I am only buying from Newegg

Location: Florida, US

Resolution: 1920 x 1080

I already have the 7850 which I got for 30 dollars off from $190 and the memory which I got for $15 off from $40, both on Black Friday.

Anyhow, any thoughts/recommendations? I'd prefer the final price to be before rebates since I've had absolutely terrible experiences with mail-in rebates

I tossed in a FX 6300 6core CPU, full ATX mobo (part of combo deal with FX 6300), and a CM Hyper 212 Plus so you can overclock the thing. Should give you some good performance for a little bit more than your max budget.

That is an fx 6100, not a 6300. I hear AMD's second gen fx series (the 6300) is considerably better than their first gen (6100) and everyone seems to prefer the phenom ii x4 965 over the 6100. Would you still recommend the cpu you listed, and if so, why?

Yes, the 6300 is considerably better than the 6100 and most people would just take a phenom 2 x4 965BE over the 6100.
