Will gtx 550 ti be bottlenecked by my system ?

Specs are : amd athlon 64X2 5000+ dual core @2.60ghz
Ram 4gb ddr2 800
Monitor at res. 1024X768
Is gtx 550 ti good for my pc ?

that cpu is old but it can still handle a gtx 550ti easily. but for 1024*768 i dont think you really need a gtx550ti. you would be more than fine with a radeon hd6670 gddr5. what psu do you have ?

It's EVGA gtx 550 ti and i'm buying it in Chandigarh, Punjab

I know my cpu is old but i just want to play some latest games no matter if those are on medium or high settings , just want to play games smoothly

your cpu will hold you back a lot and you won't be able to play many games very smoothly no matter what graphics card you buy. I suggest either upgrading everything soon or buy something less expensive.

What other choices do you have?

I can only buy a graphic card now , i'm also thinking about gts 450 which is less powerful than 550 ti.

the 450 should be just as good since you are going to be limited by your cpu.

So it means with less expensive card i can play games smoothly on that res. ? What if i buy 550 ti ? Even after bottleneck ,Will i be able to play games smoothly ?
