Dead Radeon 4870

Hi all.

I've had my 4870 running at stock speed for 3 years now & it has finally given up.
The display I am getting is quite weird.

It shows that until midway through the windows loading logo, then it bluescreens.

Normally when I've had a dead card, i'll get a red screen, haze or fuzzyness or lines through the screen, but I haven't seen the card effecting elements & text before.

I've installed my old Radeon 2400 so I can still use the computer & its fine...

Any idea whats failing and if this is normal for a failing card?

Just a Bad GPU I guess.
I just sent an 18 month old GTX460 to RMA just 2 weeks ago, same problem, swapped to the IGP, displays just fine. Luckily that wasn't my GPU :lol:

Its clear that there is a faulty gpu.
