Advice on My First Build

Hey guys, hopefully I will be building my first PC within the next couple weeks. I will mainly being using the PC for gaming, picture editing, and a decent amount of video editing. Anything on this list that doesn't match up, anything i don't need such as the extra fans? Also any tips for a novice builder would be appreciated!

Get rid of the 12 gb ram either get 8 or spend 5 more bucks for 16

then get a z77 asrock extreme4

Then get a 7870. Also look at getting windows 7 instead of 8.

Yes I was about to recommend the radeon 7870 instead.

If you are willing to spend a little more money, get the radeon 7950. Its a better compliment for your cpu.
