Have probs w/Audigy

If u are having lockup problems with the Audigy card here is a possible fix for you. Unfortunately it isn't free. My system=Dell XPS B800r-WinXP/Pro-Audigy.

For 2 months I've had hard lockups with the Audigy. It would lock everytime I tried to play an AC3 file. Sometimes it would lock up when playing a game or a CD. Sometimes there would be lag during play. A lot of time was spent with Creative but to no avail.

Just yesterday I saw a thread at Dell's forum saying "install a 3Com NIC card, specify model #3C905C-TX and it will fix the problem.

It was try the nic or return the Audigy. I bought the NIC card. Installed it last night and it fixed all the Audigy problems. It did for me at least. Imagine that. Who would associate a NIC card with a sound card and more interestingly I didn't have a NIC card nor one integrated on the MB prior to installing the 3Com.
