Can i install windows media center 2005 on windows 7?

recently installed windows 7 with media center. found out today that my extenders for media center 2005 will not work with windows 7. does anyone know of a work around for this? is it possible to install media center 2005 on my windows 7 pc?

Hello doubleg2582;

I don't think so. Windows XP "Media Center Edition 2005" is too tightly integrated into WinXP to install in any other OS.

You can use the built in vm and install xp 2005 on the same machine inside windows 7....O.o

Hi :) 

Only on Pro and Ultimate 7.....and I am not sure even then it would work...plus Vms are limited to 512 of usuable ram...so anything used will be slow...

Thanks for the replies. Looks like my options a limited here:
1. Upgrade to the newer version extender and router (currently have wireless g only) that runs wireless n
2. find a used computer that has windows xp professional w/media center 2005

electronics are nice, but goes to show that what you buy today will be outdated tomarrow
