Would this be a driver problem or psu ? my 6870 keeps bottlenecking

i have a fx8120 + hd eah6870+ a ocz coreXstreem and my gpu keeps bottlenecking ,

when i reinstall my upto date asus drivers for my hd 6870 , my gpu works perfect i get 50fps on 720 pre-set on furmark , after a few mins-hours or if i reset my pc i have freezes in games mostly when i turn or move , my score in furmark when this permenent bottleneck happens in 20fps on furmark , i also checked gpu-z when this bottlenecking was happening and on the VDDC Offset its normaly at around 1.0500v and the red bar is around the middle but when its bottlenecking it cuts out and the red bar goes right down like it loses all voltage

i notice that after a fresh reinstall of drivers it displays the correct drivers numbers/win7 but after the bottneck it shows correct driver details /win xp on gpu-z under drivers so could the gpu drivers be reverting to win xp? and could drivers for a asus eah6870 for win xp cause this decrease or bottlenecking ?

my psu specs
◦AC Input 230Vrms, 5A, 50Hz
◦Output Voltage +3.3V +5V +12V1 +12V2 -12V +5VSB
◦Max. Load 24A 15A 25A 20A 0.3A 2.5A
◦Max. Combined 120W 444W 3.6W 12.5W
◦Total Output 500W

hopefuly its a simple fix with drivers

thanks for looking

  1. Go to AMD and get the most current drivers from there and install them. Then check your system. If you have issues, then come back for more advice:

Be sure to get either the 32-bit or 64-bit, as appropriate for your install.
