  1. In order to udate the bios, sadly you will need a SB CPU to even do that. If you haven't bought it yet, get the Z77 Fatal1ty Performance motherboard & 3570k off Newegg for a small discount. If you have already put it together, well yer out of luck and need a new motherboard :/

I really hope you actually researched those parts before you spent $1000 and built it....
  2. Thank you! Really helpful.
  3. Hey man, I myself bought all these parts aswell my problem is and maybe you understand the optical drive doesnt sit right on my tower? Do you hav the same problem. My second problem was i bought a motherboard not the one he said but a AMD Fatal1ty Professional not knowing that a i5 chip didnt wasnt compatable so now i am about to buy ASRock Fatal1ty P67: LGA 1155, Intel P67 Express but came across your question and its scared me.. plus its coming from Germany and says to make sure its compatable and i dont know how to..

So what motherboard have you chosen to go with.. It wasnt meant to be so hard!!!!
  4. did the system builder marathon really use a waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of date P67 chipset mb?
  5. I ran into a similar problem a while back and found a computer repair shop nearby that had a compatible cpu to use to just update the bios. While it was inconvenient and wasn't free it was cheaper in my case then buying a new processor or motherboard
