Error 0x80070057, Win8 install

I'm trying to install Windows 8 on a new Seagate Momentus XT hybrid drive. When Win8 tries to format the drive, it stops and gives the error code 0x80070057: “Setup was unable to create a new system partition or locate an existing system partition.” I get the same error when trying to install Win7 to this drive. I have resisted formatting it with my other computer because I want to see if this can be fixed from BIOS and Windows installer; however, I'm open to the idea that his may not be possible.
