Overall the ASUS GTX 670 Direct CU II is the best card I ever tested. I simply can't find anything wrong with it. ASUS has sucessfully addressed all the shortcomings of NVIDIA's reference design, yet asks only a moderate $20 price premium for their card. This means that you can get faster than GTX 680 performance at $420. And the card manages all that with a dual slot cooler, that just screams "put me in SLI". 2. You can get the 7970 for $399, and it is more powerful than the 670. The 670 is closer the the 7950 and the 7970 is closer to the 680.

    Wrong. GTX 670 > 7970 at stock. The 7970GHz Edition = GTX 680.

Best thing would be to get a 7970 and overclock it. Massive price/performance.
  4. @nacos The R7950 GTX 670 R7970 are all best bang for buck these cards trade blows
    GTX660 Ti/R7950
    GTX670/R7970
    GTX680/ R7970 Ghz
    GTX690/ R7990
  5. All those graphs are old as ***. The 7850 is by far the best price/perf right now, and the 7970 is cheaper than the 670. The 7950 destroys the 660 ti, and there is no such thing as a 7990. Seriously what are you guys smoking?

lolno. The 670 beat the 7970 at stock 6 months ago. Seriously OP if you want some good hardware advice go to 4chan.org/g/

Those have not been updated in a long time. Besides, who the *** knows how to put in a pci-e card and doesn't overclock?

You're saying AMD has better drive support than nVidia? Ask anyone. The graphics driver support is far better with nVidia. And 99% of people don't overclock. Why? Extra heat, voids warranty, more noise, time consuming, higher power consumption.

    1. I didn't edit anything.
    2. There is no such thing a Radeon HD 7990.

Actually, AMD has had better driver support recently than nvidia. A lot more than 1% of people overclock. Stop making up bullshit statistics. Nobody cares about power consumption, if your card is overheating you are doing it wrong, there is no way the manufacturer can tell if you overclocked, and it doesn't take long at all.

nVidia updates their drivers far more often than AMD. Fact. And it is 99%. Most people buy a computer.

That's not a real 7990. That's a piece of *** made by powercolor to cut in on some easy profits. All that card is is two 7970s stuck together.

95% of pre-built computers don't have a dedicated graphics processor.

Stop making up overclocking bs no card is the same you cannot guarantee higher overclocking it's possible NOT Guaranteed so that's non sense is dead

Is a GTX 690 isn't two 680's stuck together? And I'm pretty sure that Radeon HD 7990 is copyrighted by AMD so AMD acknowledges that it is worthy of being a 7990. Stop posting. Your tendency to swear in every post shows your lack of maturity and clearly don't deserve to be trying to help the OP.

Don't need discrete to overclock. That's more BS. It's probably more like 75% or so.

Oh dear lord. A GTX 690 is two GTX 680s on a SINGLE PCB. That 7990 is two entirely different GPUs put in one casing. Bro why are you even on these forums?
  22. lol another 670 vs 7970 thread. but maybe i can enjoy this one

There is no sense in overclocking the IGP.

"Free performance boost" with no real risks right?

BTW, I quote from Hardware Canucks "Despite its odd “Devil 13” moniker, this card is exactly what many initially wanted the HD 7990 to be: a single PCB solution that combines a pair of fully endowed Tahiti XT cores".

What games do you intend to play?

All types. Cod, maybe bf3, APB reloaded(runs better with physx) I'm pretty sure I'm gonna go with the 670 for now.

Seems like a good choice for those games.

    STRAIGHT BEAST!!

Is it the best version of the 670 though? I've heard the MSI is pretty good but i've heard the ASUS is very good cooling and quiet.
  29. It's the best 670 period i hate to admit it because i own x2 MSI 670 PE my friend has the TOP it's slightly better
  30. The reason why the Top is better i think is because Asus used specially higher binned chip then the MSI PE and it even runs quieter other then that there on the same level
  31. For the games he wants to play, it doesn't matter. :)

    this one? http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=20212
  33. Not sure looks like that site is trying to pull a fast one it should have these in the product name -DC2T-2GD5 notice there is no T yeah that's not the TOP
  34. I would call that place and ask why they are falsely claiming that's the Asus TOP and see what they say

  36. No it isn't it's a scam there trying to pass this card off as the TOP http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121637&name=Desktop-Graphics-Cards
  37. Product name real top =ASUS GTX670-DC2T-2GD5 fake top =ASUS GTX670-DC2-2GD5 notice no T?
  38. Just buy it it's the same card without specially binned chip or buy the MSI PE
