Screen saver won't activate in windows 7

I have windows 7 home something. I fixed the problem by going into Norton and changing the screen setting to "off" or "on" (can't remeber which). Works perfectly now!!!!!! It's apparent that the Norton security was stopping the windows screen saver from working.
