Hello, I have a 2.66ghz core2quad with 4 gigs of ram. I am looking to upgrade my current graphics card to something better for casual gaming. My current card is a geforce 8500gt and its very slow at the moment. I can choose between a XFX Radeon HD 6570 1GB & a NVIDIA GeForce GT 520 1GB. Which of these 2 cards would be the best for my setup? I really don't play alot of games but mostly Starcraft 2, LoL, and WoW.

I just wanted to add, I'm not looking for something to give me 150fps i just want the game to be playable at 1280x720 res and smooth on good settings. It's mainly for World of Warcraft MoP.

Why those 2 cards? The 6570 would be better imo. But the cards are going to choke Starcraft, but everything else should work fine.

I chose these 2 cards because I am on a tight budget and both of these cards are about the same price at the moment. I was leaning toward the 6570 but I've never used anything but NVIDIA cards. I have no experience with ati graphics cards at all.

id honestly suggest saving up a bit more money and getting a 6670 or even a 7770

edit if you get a 6670 make sure to get the gddr5 version not the gddr3 version

Thanks for the help I went with the 6570 for now. I needed something to last me for a few months until I grab a better card. Hopefully it runs alot smoother than my 8500gt. Which it should considering how old the 8500gt is. I was getting serious lag and slowdown from it in WoW MoP running it on low with 20fps or less and sc2 wasn't playable at all. If this card runs at 30-40 fps on good settings ill be happy until I get a better card.

for wow id suggest mutlisampling set to 2x
shadows low
sun shafts off or low

turn off all new stuff

just make sure to fine tune your settings for the best possible fps!

Yeah I am getting really bad fps and lag with the 8500gt with everything i can possibly turn off turned off and the lowest settings you can possibly use DX9 and multisampling is 1x. I just hope the new card is a little bit better. The 8500gt is such an old card that I'm almost positive this one will be 2x faster or more.
