Hi guys,

I am planning to replace my current gpu (gt-440), and for that i have googled some of the graphics cards..
The following:

1- HIS 7750
2- HIS 6670
3- HIS 6670
4- HIS 6570
5- SAPPHIRE 7750
6- SAPPHIRE 6770
7- SAPPHIRE 6570
8- EVGA GT 640
9- EVGA GT 630
10- INNO3D GTX550Ti
11- INNO3D GT640

As you can see the level of my confusion :kaola:

I just wanted to know the best card with respect to "price/performance"....

Your response will be highly acknowledged :)

Cheers!

First of all, What is ur current PSU ? If ur PSU can't support the power consumption of the new card or don't have the enough PCI-E pin connector, u will run into trouble.
Secondly, what CPU are you using at the moment ? because no matter how good the graphic card is, old CPU will bottleneck ur card so there is no point getting an expensive card that ur CPU will drag the performance down.
Thirdly, you can check the graphic hierarchy on this article http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107.html .

Thank you ttcboy. First of all what is your budget and what is your power supply(how many watts)? Second what is your cpu? Third, what are you planning on doing game wise and such, which games and what do you want fps and settings?

Little gaming and low psu get the 7750.
Something else, it just depends...

I would get the 7750/7770 if that is your price range - it is manufactured on the 28nm process which is better than the gtx550ti. i.e. uses LESS power and saves your electricity bill. btw make sure you get the GDDR5 and not the DDR3 versions.

My psu is a 500W cooler master extreme plus..... and the budget lies in between the cards that i have mentioned...

Delirious, obviously am planning to buy a card giving me some solid fps at 1366 x 768 resolution amongst the cards given above...

and o yeah, forgot to include 7770 in the list... Any suggestions ???

The HD 7770 is by far the best card in your list (well it isn't really in the list but...) .
If you can buy a HD 7770 just do it it's a very good card and since it's very power efficient it will save you quite a bit of money over time (compared to the GTX 550 Ti).

BUT if you can spend a bit more money you should definetly buy a HD 6870.

It's a LOT faster than the cards above.

Just take a look at this chart.

The GTX 650 is pretty much as fast as the 550 Ti and the 7750.That should give you an idea of how fast that card is.

I'll go with the 7770 then :) Thank u kamen_bg, akshayghai, dyc4ha :)

Just one more curiosity...
Does the manufacturing company matters??? What i mean is that, HIS HD 7770 and Sapphire HD 7770.. Actually near my place, the dealer has this HIS HD 7770... The cost of the HIS card is quite less than the Sapphire one... Any comments???

I have used HIS cards in the past, and still have my trusty HIS 6950 IceQ Turbo X. Best card I have ever used. No problems with them. Go with whichever is cheaper, the price difference could be because its stock cooler vs custom cooler?

As with any electronics, some would be DOA, some might be defective, you just simply return/RMA it. It happens with ALL the companies out there. AMD does not bin/cherry pick their GPUs for select partners, so its the same old lucky draw of the silicon. Hope this helps.

EDIT: I do not believe that there is a DDR3 version for the 7770, they should be all GDDR5 so you dont have to worry about that!

The major difference between different branded card is the cooler. Some will be more efficient at keeping the card cool while staying silent. Then comes warranty, RMA process etc etc. But just out of curiosity, how much is the his card you're talking about?
