First Build - 1000$ to 1200$ - Advice

December 8, 2012 11:51:54 PM

I'm building my first computer, I'm pretty new to building, but I do have a lot of knowledge about parts (Not nearly as much as veterans here), and I'd greatly appreciate any advice as to what components to include. Here are the details:

Approximate Purchase Date: January of next year.

Budget Range: $1000 USD - $1200 USD after tax, price must include shipping, tax, monitor, and keyboard.

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Mild Gaming (I mostly play minecraft, Team Fortress 2, and Tekkit), and school work.

Are you buying a monitor: Yes.

Do you need to buy OS: Yes, preferably Windows 7 64 Bit

Preferred Website(s) for Parts: should work perfectly for me.

Location: Knoxville, TN, USA

Parts Preferences: Intel

Overclocking: Not likely.

SLI or Crossfire: If it is worth the price.

Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080

Additional Comments: Whatever you all think is optimal for me. An SSD would be nice. Hard Drive size doesn't matter. Screen size has to be over 20"

Why Are You Upgrading: My laptop kinda sucks, so I think it would be a good experience for me to build my own, new, PC.
