Changed graphics card and now all games lag?

so i changed out my 550 ti with a sapphire 6850 and installed all the drivers but now every game lags pretty bad. my wife made me have her IT department look at it because i bought a faulty 6850 a week ago, but im pretty sure they didnt mess anything up

is it possible that my games were optimized for physx and they dont know to switch to opencl?

you may want to go into whatever game you're playing and reset all settings back to default, then save settings and exit game. reboot you're game and adjust whatever visual settings that you prefer.

Also it isn't completely uncommon for drivers to install "sideways" you may want to remove all AMD drivers and reinstall.

* Uninstall the drivers > driver sweeper(http://treexy.com/) > reboot > reinstall drivers

*Did you clean install with Nvidia installation.

* Custom set your Nvidia Control Panel settings

Does the game actually lag or just have slow frames per second?
Reset your game settings to default and try again.

If an IT department looked at it and it still lags that seems odd.

no i meant that i bought a faulty one last week and they looked at it. and when i got my new one today all the stuff lagged
