Hi guys,

First post here =) do put up with me please.

Brief outline, my PC is 2 years old, died and I kinda figured it is probably the mobo, so I am trying to get a new mobo+cpu. My PC was a DIY so all the parts were chosen by myself and pieced together but I realized I don't even know if they are compatible with each other and would work as a "team" (basically I wanna get all the good parts together but I don't know nuts about IT) so I thought this time I would ask.

Old specs (Hopefully I did not leave anything out):
CPU: i5-760
MOBO: ASUS P7P55D-E Pro
OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Graphics Card: Palit GeForce GTX460
RAM: two of this --> Kingston ValueRAM DDR3 4 GB PC RAM (KVR1333D3N9/4G)
Casing: Cooler Master (do not remember model number), 2x 120mm fan and 2x 80mm fan
Power Supply: Andyson F650

What I am looking at:
CPU: i5-3470
MOBO: ASUS P8B75-V

What I do with my PC:
I play quite a fair bit of games, I want to be able to run Starcraft 2, Diablo 3, Heroes of Newerth etc. etc. on high quality settings.

What I need: comments on my choices for replacement.
What I welcome: Alternative suggestions but if possible keep the net cost at similar levels to the ones I've chosen (I am jobless).

If you're jobless, check craigslist first for a replacement 1156 board. You might get lucky. Here's two possibilities:

http://www.amazon.com/H55MAT--Socket-micro-ATX-Motherbo...
http://www.ascendtech.us/ecs-p55h-cm-socket-1156-intel-...

Also request an rma for your old board; the worst asus can say is no. As long as there's no surface damage, it may still be covered. Your old 760 cpu is still plenty fast.
