MSI GTX 680 Lightning on a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R

October 20, 2012 12:30:01 AM

I've recently bought a MSI GTX 680 Lightning GPU to replace my old one but my current mobo seems to have some compatibility issues that lead to it slowing down severely when booted.

My current specs are:

i7 920 2.6 factory specs
mobo: XFX X58i CH19
8GB DDR3 G.Skill Ripjaw
PSU: Corsair 1000w HX
GPU: MSI GTX 680 Lightning

So, as it stands the PC was still holding out pretty well and I can't really afford buying a new mobo + processor kit at this time, so I've been looking into some of the LGA 1366 mobos in order to simply replace the mobo and ran into a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R.

I've seen that some people have this setup around the forums and I'd like to know if there is anything I should look out for in this mobo, will this mobo on this GPU work out fine without problems? Can I go for it? etc.
