Is My internet speed what they gave me.

Hello, My parents just got an "upgraded" internet service from AT&T after Very sad costumer service. Im not familiar with networking (More Hardware) and was wondering if the speed was correct.

The modem is a 2wire if you need the model number just ask. but it says the incoming speed is 1952 kbps and outgoing speed 512 kbps. which i know is really horrible. but is this correct the download speed is on average around 200 KB/s is that right?

Any help would be nice or even an explain on how networking speed works. Thank you very much

What speed connection is ATT advertising that you are paying for?

Try going to www.speedtest.net and run that test, then compare this with the connection speed they are paying for.
