Need Help Choosing a Monitor

October 20, 2012 8:05:22 PM

This seems to be mostly graphics card threads but it also says displays so I guess this is where this thread goes.

I'll primarily be using the desktop for programming, gaming, surfing the internet, and watching movies.

Right now I'm considering three different options:
1) One ASUS PB238Q 23" (1920x1080) IPS Display ($230)
2) Two ASUS VS229-H 21.5" (1920x1080) e-IPS Display ($300 @ $150 each)
3) One ASUS PA248Q 24" (1920x1200) IPS Display ($310)

Any suggestions? If I get either the PB or PA I will most likely get a second one later down the road but not at first. If I go with the cheaper VS series I will get two from the get go.

I like the robust features that the PB and PA series offer such as the reallly nice stand that has a ton of adjustments and I like the nicer IPS panel. I think they're P-IPS or something as opposed to the e-IPS of the VS? I could be wrong about that though. They seem more professional grade as opposed to the consumer grade of the VS series.

The PA is nice and I like the 1200p vs 1080p but is it worth another $80?

Any other monitor suggestions are welcome too.

P.S. - Since there's a ton of graphics card threads in here I might as well see what everyone thinks about the GPU I'm considering right now.
Opinions on the EVGA GTX 660 Ti FTW Signature 2?
Does anyone know how the Signature 2 cooling design does in comparison to the reference design? I haven't really been able to find any reviews.
