I have a brand new HP Pavillion a620n which worked great
last week when first purchased. Now there is a device
conflict with the DVD-ROM and DVD-R/W drives and they are
not being recognized. I am getting an error code 41 for
the two DVD drives and an error code 10 for my external
fire wire hard drive. All three worked fine initially.
Any guidance would be appreciated.

Find who fooled with your machine (and possibly touched master/slave jumpers).
