SATA 2 and SATA 3 Help!

Well for the rig im building, im going to use a SSD for the boot drive and a Mechanical for storage and such.

SSD: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/ocz-internal-hard-drive-agt325sat390g

HDD: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/seagate-internal-hard-drive-st1000dm003

My Mobo has 4 SATA 3 slots and 4 SATA 2 slots.

Would i plug both of these drives into the SATA 3 slots?

Is my HDD SATA 3 compatible, or is it only SATA 2 compatible?

Please help!

Thanks in advance!

More about sata sata help
  1. it is most optimal to plug both the ssd and hdd into the sata 6.0 ports that are native to the chipset that you are using

then everything else can go on the other sata 6.0 ports or the sata 3.0 ports
