Video card: problems and compatibility

Hi!
(sorry if i make mistakes, I'm italian and the italian forum doesn't work )

I've got a problem,
my graphic card (Nvidia GeForce 9600 GS) used to lock up a lot in march 2012: the screen froze and I had to restart the computer.
I called the technician and he saw that the fan of the video card didn't spin properly, (and unluckily there weren't any spare parts) so he oiled the fan and it worked perfectly.
Now (october 2012) it locked up again! I hope it's not the same problem, or else i'll have to get the fan of my video card oiled again

Since my video card has problems, I'd like to change it.

Is there a video card (more powerful than my GeForce 9600 GS please :lol: ) that is compatible with my system?
