Black screen with small blinkng line in top right corner

So basicaly i turn on my computer and it says asus or whatever and then it goes to a black screen with a little _ lookin thing and it blinks. And thats all i can do with my comp :|

Dis you make any changes on your computer?
is it a desktop or laptop?
what are the specs? what's the OS?

Do you see the hard disk inside the bios? (if no then it's not plugged correctly)
If yes, try Reseting the bios to optimized defaults.

If you press F8 after booting do you see the windows startup menu?
