I'm using 3x30'' monitors, and 1x24'' monitor (want to add another 1x24'' monitor) all running off a single XFX-branded HD6990 at stock clock (I don't believe XFX overclocks the card, but I'm not sure).
In either case, overclocking isn't much of an option - the card is notoriously hot (and loud), and I've seen that OC doesn't gain anything viz. performance of note.
My usage cases are actually sparse - desktop use, trading platform (charting, etc.), occasional game on only 1 of the screens (I don't care about eyefinity, nor does it work well with the screens this large, and the limited 4GB of memory on the card).
But I'm noting some redraw performance issues - there's a bit of delay in moving windows around sometimes, for instance.
1. I'm wondering if this could be related to the GPU in any way, or if it's a CPU/Memory or even software issue.
2. I know that my desktop usage should in no way tax the GPU like the 3D games it's used for, so I'm hesitant to say the GPU is limiting performance in any way. But I also know that the large screen surface area I'm driving requires a lot of video memory regardless of whether its drawing 3D graphics or PowerPoint.
Does anyone have any thoughts on what I should investigate?
