My router shuts down after 30 minutes of inactivity. It starts up again when I try to access the internet but it is annoying to have to wait for it to "wake up". Is there a way to set my computer to access the internet on it's own after maybe 25 minutes by perhaps requesting a webpage, and to repeat this process every 25 minutes, thereby keeping the internet connection always open? It is an ethernet connection, not wireless.
Thanks John Ratcliffe.

What router do you have? Check in the router settings and see if there is a power saving feature you can turn off.
Thanks Sturm, there was a way of turning off the power saving feature for the router on the computer itself, I did that and it seems to be better now.
