Pcie 3.0 card on pcie 2.1 or less

how would HIS HD 7770 iCooler edition (PCIE 3.0) run on my pc if i have a pcie 2.1 or less?

Please note that i do not know currently about pcie version on my rig. how can i find out??

so if it is less, how would the above mentioned card run??

pcie is backwards compatible. you can plug pcie 3.0 into pcie 1.0 and it will work

You need to open your case and look at your Motherboard, it will have the model printed on it or download CPU-z and it will do the same thing without having to open the case.

Now, to answer your question, yes, PCIE 3.0 Video Cards are backwards compatible and will work on PCIE 2.0

None that you'll notice. The performance difference between 3.0 & 2.1 is about 1%.
