dvd rom suddenly no audio

for some reason my dvds have no sound. they all worked yesterday but can't get sound today. they play the movie fine. my cd rom is ok because i played an audio cd and it worked fine. all other audio works on my computer. i even looked inside of the computer to see if any cables were loose. does anyone know why i am having this problem? the dvd rom is about 3 years old. it is a TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-M1202 if that helps anymore. please help me with this. thanks.
