Gtx 680 question!

What I be losing ALOT of potential performance by have a capable pcie 3.0 card in a pci 2.0 only capable motherboard?

Currently, you should not loose much performance if any. Future cards which can actually saturated the 2.0 bandwidth will see a benefit. As far as I am aware, the 680 does not exceed that.
