As AMD released a very nice driver update that boost the 7000 series cards (along with a great game bundle), Nvidia is not taking it sitting down. Today they released driver 310.33 with supposed performance boosts for their own cards. This is good to see competition like this as with AMD's relesae (and pricing scheme) they look better right now. Now we need to see some benchmarks from the 600 series from Nvidia to see if their drivers put them back on the same level. I love competition! ;)

There one thing we need to keep an good eyes for, sometimes the quality sacrifised for the sake of increasing the fps...

IMO, it can be good thing or bad thing....

+1 to that

Both have been guilty of sacrificing quality in the quest for speed in the past. Usually as a result of games being very demanding and so IQ corners were cut to give speed bumps.
It will be very disappointing if they are doing so now as the games are not that demanding right now and any tinkering that impacts negatively on quality in what would basically be a FPS who can pee the highest contest would show total contempt for the customers in my opinion.
