Trying to build a gaming PC under $500

Would this PC be able to run most games on High/Very High settings?

It depends on the games you would be trying to play as well as the resolution of your monitor. It will probably play most games around medium

Spend an extra $20 and get a 650 ti. It has a lot more power to it.

This build won't work. The motherboard you have chosen only supports up to 95W CPUs. You are better off going with this board

as it supports 125W CPUs and will allow you to use AM3+ CPUs latter on. As for high/Very high you won't hit that with more demanding games using that video card, but might be able to on older or less demanding games.

Ah, you are correct. I guess I didn't notice because the 955 I have is the 95W version. Forgot about the Black Edition.

Note: A couple of months back I remember reading that the video card might have some issues, don't know if they fixed it yet. To play it safe and save some more cash you can get a 7850 instead.
