Going to try and sell my recently build desktop for 1400, to get money for a nice asus g75. My question is, is it worth it? What difference in processor power am i going to see or even notice? Will there be a minimal drop or minimal gain? Honestly i want this laptop bad because i grew tired of being anchored to my room with this beast.
The 2500k is well known for it's great overclock potential (that is why you got the 'K'?) - not so for the (any) Ivy cpu, and this - coupled with the fact you are (downgrading existing/potential) cpu/gfx desktop power to a laptop - kind of answers your question.
Due to form factor, and in general!!, desktops will always offer fars greater potential than an laptop.
However, horses for courses, if you really need the portability of a laptop then no problems - go for it!
haha yeah mobility was the main attraction cause i do not have a desk or comfortable chair, My friend said he got 60fps in lions arch maxxed settings on his asus laptop, i get like 30 -40 atm with the people and halloween event, so his gtx is beating my 7970? I feel like i am missing a big picture or am not setting my computer up right, also MY CPU temp is at 75c right now which i also think is not right.... it shouldn't be that high right??? I don't know how to over clock things either x.x
then why am i like 30-40 fps in lions arch maxxed ;-; besides the obvious too many people brawling infront of me XP. That's another thing i have 7 fans but don't think i have enough cooling for that... thing hits 60degrees when my games up, 75 when google and game is up. Think OC would make it esplode
