Looking for any help I can get as a first time builder...
Approximate Purchase Date: e.g.: Week after Xmas/Early Jan 2013
Budget Range: Trying to keep it in the $700-$800 range
System Usage from Most to Least Important: gaming, watch my placeshifted Directv @ work, web surfing
Are you buying a monitor: No, going to use HDMI to a TV
Parts to Upgrade: Brand new build replacing my laptop. I have a mouse/keyboard and monitor
Do you need to buy OS: Yes, Windows 7 64bit preferred
Preferred Website(s) for Parts: No Preference. I've researched Newegg, Tiger Direct and Newegg. Only 1hr away from a Microcenter too.
Location: South Central PA, 1 hr north of Baltimore, 2 1/2 hrs from Philly
Parts Preferences: Looking at AMD Phenom II x4 965 for cost reasons, open to intel i5 3570 as well or anything else I may have missed
Overclocking: No
SLI or Crossfire: No
Your Monitor Resolution: 1920x1080
Additional Comments: Portability is key. I will be taking my machine to and from work regularly. I work year round at a seasonal business so I have plenty of time to kill at work most of the year.
And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: Laptop is about 4 years old is unable to run Planetside 2. I also play EVE Online, but I have a PS3 for most of my gaming needs.
