Power supply and graphics questions for first build

Hello, i've recently been convinced to get a gaming pc by several factors in my life. i have a general understanding of computers and i may be a gamer. Aswell to gratify myself that im making a good decision i've also got the idea of doing some vfx and video editing.so today my mother asked me what i wanted for christmas so i got on my shitty single core dell studio laptop to go on newegg to create my best but im a little bit stuck on a final decision for my power supply,and i have no idea what to pick for my graphics or video card. so i thought id come here say what i've got in my cart so far and see if i can get any help from you guys.

how much is your budget for the video card? 380w is not much for gaming.. I'd suggest at least 500w. You can use hd 6670, 7750, 7770 gtx 650 (all below 150$)with that 380w psu. If you have a 500w you can choose from the recommendations below starting from $150-350

this is sorta my budget build as of now so i'm not throwing too much cash into it yet. and as for the card i was actually just looking at a asus 6670. Again i have no knowledge of psu's (as you called them) or graphics cards. as this is my first build i'm really just looking for something to run sony vegas, skype, fraps, a web browser(chrome probably),and some basic games like battlefield and minecraft (i guess we could include steam with those programs), and for my budget i'm saying around 600-700 dollars for everything except my keyboard,mouse, and moniter. if you or anyone can rig up a build to fit these accommodations under my budget it would be great.
