First time Building Comp: Opinions plz

Hey, I'm trying to build a decent gaming computer and i was hoping i could get input on the pieces I'm planning on buying.

  1. Change the cpu for a much better one like the intel i5-3470 (it's better overall and especially in gaming) and draws less power/heat, also you can have a better gpu for the same price.
