BF3 with a single card on ultra?

Last response: in Graphics & Displays

Hi all. Is one Radeon HD7970 OC 3gb graphics card enough to play Battlefield 3 on ultra?

I currently have the following:
i7-3770 3.40Ghz CPU
8GB RAM
HD7770 (is what I'm replacing)
500w supply box. I know the power supply needs upgrading to at least 550watts but that won't cost alot, I guess.

I don't feel the need to go duel graphics unless i'm doing some serious 3D design.

Depends on monitor resolution and AA settings. I get 60+fps w/ 2xAA on a 660ti w/ 1080 monitor.

If your buying a 7970 then please tell me you have a rocking monitor of at least 1080 or 100p.

yes most definitly, but battlefield favors nvidia and their are some gtx 670s for under 380 bucks. but the 7970 is still a great bang for buck cause if you overclock it it will match or beat the performance of bf3 on a gtx 670 and right now if you buy a 7950 or 7970 you get sleeping dogs, hitman absolution, and far cry 3 for free, and 20 percent off medal of honor
