Hello everyone,
I have a sony laptop VPCEB44EN
At times when i used to start it there was no display just the power light on and no hdd activity, after starting for about 20 times it used to boot up. I removed the ram the hdd and tried to boot but same issue.
Searched a lot on net but couldn't find any correct information.
Can anyone help me what could be the problem is it the board faulty or the display card ( seems built in display cant see the card )

Could be the screen, could be the motherboard. Try it with an external monitor, if it works fine, the LCD is the issue. Looks like it's an i3 system, is it in warranty? If it is you can contact Sony for support.

Hi,
Can a faulty LCD stop the booting process of the laptop ? It does not go to bios.

Just two days back it switched it on by itself, booted, went to windows and after 10 mins the screen flickered and blue screen and shut down. Thought it might be cause the thermal paste of cpu got hard, so i cleaned the existing paste and replaced it with artic silver but again its not booting. just the green light and fan moves and in 2 mins it becomes dead.

Just a bad screen should not do anything to keep a laptop from booting. Did you try it with an external monitor? Does the laptop turn off totally or just the screen? Try running it with a fan blowing on it.
